la pampa is full. At least the big stages are now. The last gladiators for the live arena are +/- {Plus/Minus}, Popular Damage, The Friendliness Is Going Happy and ZEBU! Off to round two! Naturally that wasn’t all yet. In just a few weeks there’s going to be more to read about all the DJs and Sunday bands that will musically infuse la pampa this year. Enjoy your May!

Our friends of ZEBU! handcrafted a little video message to announce The Notwist at la pampa. We don't want to keep that from you so please have a look and enjoy chickens and Mercedes-Benz. Furthermore, it is now official that the new album by la pampa band Portugal. The Man will be called "The Satanic Satanist". Release date for Germany is July 17.

Finally, we may announce what is now definite. Apart from all the great artists already running through our player on the left, la pampa is proud to present: The Notwist, Portugal. The Man, Bonaparte, Ja, Panik and our regioactive.de-contest winners Vierkanttretlager. We are very much excited about these recent events in the booking department and advise strongly to buy tickets soon. Original tickets can be purchased at certain shops in Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Halle, and the festival region or online here in our ticket center.

The second album is always the hardest. That's what they say anyways. First you offer up something hard-hitting; many years' sweat and creativity compressed onto one disc and then, well, either you sore to the next level or you just fall short, laurels and all. Great audience, exciting lineup, friendly ambiance in the middle of nowhere between borders, a solid location, and euphoric feedback from all sides—2008 did indeed set the bar pretty high. Even better the second time around?

Now la pampa is back in the studio to keep “Experiment 2008” rolling steadily along in 2009.The first demos are rolling in the player to your left with more to come. The whole tape will be realized live from July 10-12, 2009. We’ll keep what‘s good, we’ll change what could have been better. In the end, the band is still learning their instruments. One can hear the whispers behind closed doors: they want to become more European, “cosmopolitan” in the good way, and with all the help of the neighbors. Openly looking to the left and right of the spectrum without surrendering to the average. The restless energy is hard to contain. Somehow everyone wants to play their part first.

The second album is always the hardest, how true it is. In the best case, it only heightens the euphoria that the first LP brought to the recipient, entering him or her into a deep connection with the music, the entire work of art, and a benevolent anticipation of the things to come.

Without listeners there is no music.
